Dr Sam Orde from Nepean Hospital and the Nepean Institute of Critical Care Education & Research (NICCER) with local Dunedin faculty will be running a three day Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography Course (beyond Rapid Assessment by Cardiac Echo) in Queenstown, from January 22nd to 24th 2020.
The target audience is doctors that are already proficient in focused echo, are starting to use Doppler and assess valvular dysfunction. It is also targeted at critical care physicians seeking accreditation in advanced critical care echocardiography (DDU, EDEC, or equivalent).
The course will start with morning lectures and case discussions, followed by afternoon viva stations and simulation. TTE and TOE will be part of the course lectures and simulation. Doppler US, systemic and pulmonary hemodynamic assessment, valve evaluation and diastolic dysfunction will be discussed. The course aims to be highly clinically focused and will concentrate on critical care cases. The venue is very family friendly.
